I hope that everyone has enjoyed getting back to school this year. I imagine you worried what school would be like for our children this Fall. Thanks to early pledges to kik, and some savvy budgeting by the District, our kids returned to excellent schools.
The State budget crisis is projected to last for three years or more. If we're committed to maintaining the quality of our kids' education, we need to take responsibility, since the State won't.
That's why the kik board increased our fundraising goal this year to $1.2 million--we need to be ready to support our kids, no matter what Sacramento does. Without the support of parents and the wider community through kik, our schools cannot excel.

API Scores are IN!
On September 15th, we learned that the Kentfield School District received 942 API (Academic Performance Index) on the State STAR test for spring 2009. This is an outstanding score. Thanks to the great work of students and staff both schools exceeded the state target with Bacich receiving an API score of 946 and Kent receiving a score of 944.
How great is this? We topped all the schools in Marin. What a great place to live. See for yourself.
